Critic turns performer: “Permanent Collection”

I’ve been writing so much theater criticism over the past couple of years that it seemed only fair that I get back in the performers’ saddle to better empathize with the folks I write about and the challenges of their work. I enrolled in the SF Solo Performance Workshop for an eight week course, during which I developed this 13 minute piece. While the emotions conveyed are very close to my own, the story itself is almost entirely fictional…My hope is that it feels true.
